I just got back from San Francisco, a city that has plenty of free-standing public toilets—unlike Seattle, a city that bought a bunch of free-standing public toilets for $5 million a few years ago and then quickly changed its mind, ripped them all out, sold them off on eBay at a huge loss, and is now trying to figure out how to handle its rivers of urban piss.
