Rick Perry Endorses Mitt Romney

Posted by on Thu, Apr 26, 2012 at 3:40 PM

And not one single fuck was given. Perry, of course, threw his weight behind Newt Gingrich when his campaign fell apart back at the beginning of this year. Now, months later, he's endorsing the frontrunner. That's like putting some irrelevance on your irrelevancy because it wasn't quite irrelevant enough in the first place.

It's kind of funny to think that Perry was the guy a lot of Democrats were terrified of, back before he jumped in the race. Now, Herman Cain strikes a bigger figure in national politics.

Now, wait a minute. Doesn't - or didn't Perry have a personal beef against Romney? Maybe this is a case of being a professional until the end.

If (okay, it's a BIG if) Perry or Bachmann had been able to walk and chew gum at the same time (or at least act like a serious presidential candidate), there would have been reason to be scared. Who knew until they imploded on public stage that they weren't cut out for higher office? They had both managed to win elections.

Maybe Perry should produce a few terrible videos of him launching puppies with a catapult or being eaten by geese or something. That'll put him back in the public imagination!

That Lunchtime Quickie Kelly O posted a while back, the spoof of Perry's conservative cowboy ad in which someone superimposed a gigantic ass over his head and dubbed loud farting sounds whenever he was talking... Gosh, that was funny.

I would've absolutely loved to see the look on his face when he finally agreed to endorse a Mormon. A Mormon who beat him.

Rick Perry is an evil spirit composed entirely of pride and malice, and this concession must have wounded him terribly. I wish I could've been there.

Maybe Rick Perry is an albatross. He had his own campaign: It imploded. He signed on with Newt: that one imploded. Now he's signed on with Romney. Guess what happens next.
