I had the same reaction when I read Romney's comment on Facebook about how he and Gingrich are such good pals just after Gingrich dropped out. Kudos to Fox (or at least Shep Smith) for candidness on this one.

Shep Smith is the most sane and normal person on that network. He is one of the few guys who will scold viewers who write crazy shit.

Whoa. That got creepy at the end.

You can see Shep's life flashing before his eyes. As if he was thinking "What in the name of fuck am I talking about?"

He needs to lay off the botox, it's getting to his head.

Even with what they're paying him, it must be incredibly difficult to work for that network as a relatively sane and reasonable person.

Not to mention being gay and working for one of the most conservative organizations in the country... I still don't know how someone can live with that mental discord.

You have to bear in mind that Newt 'suspended' his campaign, he didn't quit. I guess that's akin to Republican congressmen who bind themselves to an oath with Grover Norquist, but won't comprise on anything (other than personal and professional ethics).

How is Mitt's statement creepier than Newt's, "Calista and I are going to remain active citizens"? Like Jon Stewart said, "wouldn't it be great if they were deported after suspending their campaigns."

I love this. News anchors should comment on the absurdity of all such political statements, like a bullshit disclaimer. It would help fill out time in the 24-hour news cycle too.

If he works for Faux, isn't the default assumption that his brain is broken already?

I guess I should watch the clip and see what all the fuss is about, but watching anything from Faux is a bad bet for my stomach's quiescence.

Shep's a Token, it's his role to play.

I don't doubt that he's sane, but he's only there to get Democrats to watch Fox, which apparently some bozos actually do.

Yeah, Sanity and Reality are merely Shep's brand. It's a mistake to assume that anyone employed at Fox truly believes what they read off the teleprompters.

@11 oh geez, I hate fox news as much as the next liberal but I hate you people (both liberals and conservatives) who make up those dumb play-on-words with negative connotations then stick to them like gospel (i.e. Faux News, Obamacare) you all sound like crazy people. And not watching something just because you disagree with it?? That's just putting yourself in a bubble. Furthermore, you will never, in a million years, win an argument if you don't have any clue what your opponent is talking about nor have a ready & loaded counterargument in a discussion. You folks are always those dumb liberals we see on TV raging about conservatives but then say nothing of substance. In conclusion: You're making us look bad, stop it.
