"Let's pretend I keep struggling with homosexuality..."

Posted by on Thu, May 24, 2012 at 10:25 AM

Yes, Totally Not Gay Preacher, let's pretend you're struggling with homosexuality. Let's pretend! Let's pretend you keep struggling with homosexuality!

Playing pretend is fun! And Pastor TotallyNotGay makes it easy! (Video and "totally not gay" meme via totally totally gay Joe My God.)

We had an intrim college pastor when I was in college in Spokane. His name was Kevin and he kept telling me how much he struggled with homsexual feelings in his past, well he called it unnatural desires. It would have been pretty creepy but he was sorta hot in a dorky kinda way.

But I didn't tap his ass as it turned out. Though it probably would have helped his struggle.

The video is amazing? No, Pastor, I think you meant to say, "This video is FAAAAABULOOOOOOUS...!"

Well, at least the people in his life didn't hang him or round him up in a camp!

Gayest thing I've seen all day. And I just finished a marathon of RuPaul's Drag Race.

I can't be the only person that finds this kind of sad. I want to help this person.

This makes me so sad. Guy's literally weeping as he propounds this viewpoint...

It makes me totally sad. But it makes me sad because I think of friends I've had who were in similar places.

It makes me sad to think of the number of gay kids this guy is influencing with his self-hating bullshit. For him, I'm not so sad.

Why struggle with homosexuality, when you can just embrace it, and even hopefully some day get really good at it.

Hilarious, if it wasn't so fucking sad.

I don't struggle with homosexuality. I've conquered it and made homosexuality my bitch.

It does what ever I want, and I make it get down and dirty for me at my will.

I'm struggling to be more of a homosexual. I pray to the gym gods for better abs night and day. I watch Kathy Griffin in spite of her annoying voice and obsession with Real Housewives. And I'm FULL of Jesus' love (Jesus is my gardener).

Do the world a favor and just come out already, precious. You'll be a lot happier, and you'll do a lot less harm to your parish.

Wait, did he say he knew a gay guy with AIDS and found him dead? I couldn't understand him through all the blubbering, but if that's the case dude needed some better medical care, I mean really.

Also, I'm encouraged that most of the people in that room have white hair. Die, die, my darlings.

I imagine that he pretends Cody is struggling with homosexuality a lot. I feel bad for the guy, but his self-hatred is now endangering vulnerable kids. It's like abuse victims who go on to abuse others.

The people he's talking to look they're suffering too. "Jesus, man, give it a fucking rest".

Damn! The tone in his voice as he played up these videos... this guy is hanging on by a thread.

"Watch it. So powerful. Life changing. Repeat. Repeat."

@9 Precisely. I'm sad for him up until the moment he decides to succor his self-hatred by bringing others into his self-hating tent. After that, he's just another POS.

It's like he's pacing the room, trying to escape gay. "If I cut between these tables, The Gay will not be able to catch me."
All the while, he's becoming increasingly hysterical.

Whenever you see someone tenting their fingers, furrowing their brows and talking in an even-toned and softly-inflected voice (like the kid in the video), that's a dead giveaway that they are lying to you.

Go to 2:08 in the video and just listen to the last things he says; "God is's not me." Forget everything else you know about this guy and just listen to how he says that. That's not the sound of religious fervor or getting emotional about spreading the word or whatever. That's not even preaching. It's pleading. He sounds like a terrified young child, he's just about sobbing, and he's begging his audience not to consider any of this his doing (or perhaps to realize that this facade is not the real him).

Perhaps I'm over-analyzing, but hearing those lines was so gut-wrenchingly heartbreaking that I really doubt I'm that far off from the truth.

@29 I'm with you. I just can't find anything funny about this. That poor man - "It's not me!" It's like a scene from a Peter Schaffer play, or maybe even O'Neill.
Posted by Lance Thrustwell on May 25, 2012 at 9:59 AM · Report this
@32: Actually, that's just a dead giveaway that what they're saying is thoroughly rehearsed, doesn't necessarily mean that they're lying.

Did anyone else check out the link with the video of the dying gay guy who found Jesus? It's depressing. But hey, God loves you!.
