Back in the city of my birth there's been a shakeup in the Philadelphia Eagles front office, with longtime team president Joe Banner stepping aside. Banner is admired throughout the league for his brilliant mastery of the NFL's salary cap, and for his spearheading construction of Lincoln Financial Field and the accompanying Novacare Complex.

Yeah, I know. Not much of interest to Seattle readers. But then there's this:

Banner, 59, said Wednesday that he hoped to "get involved with the world of buying and selling a sports team with the possibility of becoming part of a group that buys a team."

Hmm. I happen to know of a very rich man who could use some help buying a sports team and spearheading construction of a new arena. Probably just a coincidence, but you never know.
