The big talking point from Republicans is that average Americans don't care about the Obama campaign's attacks on Mitt Romney's years at Bain Capital. They claim that Obama attacking Bain may even turn off the average American voter. The most recent Washington Post story about Romney outsourcing American jobs, the Republicans say, is just another ineffective attack by a desperate campaign.

That talking point is not remotely true. And this is proof: The Romney campaign has launched a site called The Facts on the Washington Post Story featuring a 10-frame slideshow debunking that story. They're also calling for a retraction from the Washington Post. Their internal polling must be dropping through the floor right now; that's the only reason I can imagine why, five days after a story is published, they're willing to draw even more attention to the story with this site. It's a risky gambit; let's see what the Post responds with.
