Earlier this year, we put Ellen Forney on the 2012 Literature Genius Shortlist. Now, her upcoming comic book memoir Marbles has been highlighted with a starred review in Publishers Weekly. For those who don't know, PW is sort of the first line of defense for booksellers and librarians. A starred review from them means an upcoming book automatically gets extra attention from the gatekeepers who decide what books you're going to be seeing a lot of next season. It's a really good sign for the success of the book, is what I mean.

If you'd like to attend the Genius Awards on Saturday, September 22nd, we've got tickets for sale over here.

UPDATE 12:47 PM: Marbles just got a starred review from Kirkus, too, which is kind of like the Pepsi to PW's Coke. The review is not online, but it reads, in part, "Forney’s story should resonate with those grappling with similar issues, while her artistry should appeal to a wide readership."
