As competitive and crowded as the primary race is in Washington's 1st Congressional District is, you wouldn't know it from watching TV. Suzan DelBene's campaign appears momentarily off the air for the first time in weeks, leaving Laura Ruderman as the only candidate currently on broadcast and cable, apparently intent on emptying her coffers entirely on a $250,000 TV buy.

DelBene has another $250,000 or so of ads booked on KING-5 during the Olympics, which starts on Friday, but if she does indeed remain off the air between now and then it's a curious bit of strategy. Ballots arrived the end of last week, so it seems like an odd time to go dark, especially considering the unlimited personal funds DelBene can pump into her campaign, and not a single public poll showing her in the lead.

Perhaps DelBene knows something we don't know? Or maybe she's just got a budget and she's sticking to it.
