Romney Adviser Equates Homosexuality with Drug Abuse and Polygamy

Posted by on Tue, Aug 21, 2012 at 3:15 PM

Freak Out Nation posted this glitchy video of Romney adviser Kris Kobach urging the RNC to not drop their anti-gay-marriage plank from the platform:

If you don't have video, here's Kobach's stirring defense of DOMA:

Our government routinely judges sutuatons where you might regard people completely affecting themselves like for example the use of controlled substances, like polygamy that is voluntarily entered into. We condemn those activities even though they are not hurting other people, at least directly.

What a brave man. What a hero.

Is he calling Romney the product of junkies?

Polygamy being, of course, right up there with drug abuse as the most depraved and destructive things one can do to oneself.

What ever happened to horsefucking?

Oh great, bring up polygamy right when they nominate the Mormon guy. Awkward!

Pope Peabrain 4
Republicans are equal to people with mild to severe mental illness. And a constant need to do what the pope demands is equal to a child who will never grow up.

Their philosophy of government is: Government should let "people like us" do ANYTHING we want, and keep "those people who aren't like us" from doing whatever we don't want them doing. Unless we want to do one of those things that we hate when "they" do it. In that case, we should still get to do it. Is that clear enough?

Wasn't the reason Romney's grandpa fled to Mexico was to polygamize?

how about all three things are (or at least should be) none of the government's business

" sutuatons"? Is that a typo, or an imitation of his accent?

@5, their philosophy is simply "Government should be us."

Republicans are severely mentally ill. No mild or moderate about it. No wonder they don't want to restrict guns to sane people.

Pick1 11
Ha, just yesterday I was speaking with my super conservative mother and she equated my homosexuality to my brother's alcoholism.

I stared at her for a moment and let her words sink in before I stood up and walked out of the room.

This is what they believe. It's a disease, something to be cured.
