Remember Dr. Jack Willke, the doctor whose shitty "science" was behind Todd Akin's "legitimate rape" comments? We already knew that Mitt Romney pursued and subsequently paraded around Willke's endorsement back in 2007, when he was trying to be the most conservative man in the 2008 Republican primary. But the Telegraph says that Romney met with Willke last year, and promised to make the anti-abortion doctor proud:

However, Dr Willke told The Daily Telegraph that he did meet Mr Romney during a presidential primary campaign stop in the doctor's home city of Cincinnati, Ohio, in October last year. Local news reports at the time noted that the candidate held “private meetings” during the visit.

“He told me ‘thank you for your support – we agree on almost everything, and if I am elected President I will make some major pro-life pronouncements’,” Dr Willke said in a telephone interview on Tuesday.

It's worth mentioning again that no Republican seriously disagreed with the content of what Todd Akin was saying. They only made noise because of the way Akin said it, and because so many people noticed that he said it.
