A Word About the Landjaegers at Bob's Quality Meats

Posted by on Tue, Aug 28, 2012 at 12:24 PM

They are perfect. Simply, utterly, unquestionably perfect. The have the right toughness, softness, saltiness, meatiness, and fattiness.

After the closing of the Continental Store in the University District, it took me two or so years to find again the perfect landjaegers. Bob's, which is located in the heart of Columbia City, is also a great butchery all around.

Good Afternoon Charles,
Those look tasty.
I, too miss the Continental Store. But, at least I have University Seafood & Poultry to indulge in in my neighborhood.

No. Bavarian Meats wins the Landjaeger contest any day. They also have a near perfect bacon.

Bob's rules. I always go for the hot & spicy ones when I'm getting meat there.

Do they happen to carry soft pretzels?

@2 -- I came to say BAVARIAN MEATS also. But I haven't had Bob's so I can't say where they stand in that competition. IF IF IF IF Bob's is better than Bavarian Meats, then that is one magnificently awesome landjaeger.

The Landjaeger that we got in Leavenworth at Cured At Visconti's was freakin awesome. I'll have to try some of Bob's since it's a bit shorter of a drive.

Couple doors down from Bob's is Columbia City Bakery. Best soft pretzels in the city.

Bavarian Meats landjaeger is a staple in my diet. I haven't found anyone else's that are even close. Must try Bob's now.

(and visit Geraldine's Counter while I'm down there!)

Their Chorizo is the best in town, just crumbly enough, with a perfect balance of spice covering up the offaly aroma.
