Attention Paul Constant! Another rumor for you to investigate:

An under-appreciated fact about conventions, I learned at the DNC in 2008, is how extra-excruciatingly boring they can be for the delegates. So much standing and waiting! (After so much earlier standing and waiting in the lines to get inside the convention hall!) Which is why so many delegates spend time in nearby bars immediately before and immediately after the five-hour-plus time blocks in which the floor speeches occur.

This year—who says liberals aren't for government-related efficiencies!—Democrats seem to have made things a little easier on the delegates. (Also: this convention floor bar, if it really exists, is a sure way to create a crowd that looks extra fired up on TV.)
