It's not just bleeding heart socialists who are opposed to Tim Eyman's tax-limiting I-1185. It's business owners, too—thousands of them.

The Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, representing 2,200 companies across the Puget Sound region, has voted to oppose Initiative 1185. Drafted by initiative promoter Tim Eyman, the measure would reinforce the two-thirds supermajority requirement for legislative approval of any measure that increases taxes.

The resolution adopted by the Chamber’s Board of Trustees notes that if passed, I-1185 would make it more difficult to execute two key components of the Chamber’s strategic plan: passing a long-term, comprehensive transportation funding package, and securing investments in K-12 and higher education. “Investments in Washington’s education and transportation systems are essential to keeping our state a competitive place to do business,” said Chamber President and CEO Maud Daudon.

But, just to be clear, socialists still hate I-1185 too.
