1. It's another big night for book events. Paul Auster is in Suggests, but there's a whole lot more than that going on. Case in point: You should think about going to Movable Type at Vermillion tonight. The last Movable Type was a lot of fun. Here's how it works: Everybody shows up with the book that they're currently reading. Everyone buys a drink. Then, everyone talks about the books they're carrying around. Last time, I talked with someone reading Isaac Asimov, someone reading Jim Dodge's sublime Fup, and several Tolstoy fans. If you love books, this is the event for you.

2. But the sad thing is, that's not even the only great literary boozefest going on tonight. Hugo House is hosting Cheap Beer and Prose. Writers Suzanne Morrison, John Osebold, Jennifer Munro and Ross McMeekin will all read new work while you drink cheap PBR at the newest installment of the popular readings series. Tonight is the debut of a new CB&P host, whose name is Jeanine Walker.

3. There's a whole lot more, including a reading from a book titled 99 to 1: How Wealth Inequality is Wrecking the World and What We Can Do About It, and Ivan Doig reading from his latest, in the readings calendar.
