All day long, Drudge has been promising a bombshell. The implication is that he's going to publish a video of President Obama talking about race in a way that will presumably make white voters nervous. The video will also air on Fox News tonight.

BuzzFeed seems pretty sure that this is the video Drudge is going to publish. It's been online since Obama gave this speech, in 2007:

BuzzFeed also found a few clips that weren't in the video, including Obama giving a shout-out to his pastor, Jeremiah Wright. To quote Drudge: "THE ACCENT... THE ANGER... THE ACCUSATIONS... THE SERMON...THE SHOUT OUT TO REV. WRIGHT, WHO IS IN AUDIENCE..."

I just don't think this video will stick. First of all, it's existed on the internet for five years. Second of all, it's not a secret video, as Romney's 47% video was. This is all public, and has been public for five years. Third of all, the American public has already voted on the Jeremiah Wright issue, and we decided it's a non-issue. As Sam Stein points out, Tucker Carlson already devoted a show to this video on MSNBC back in June of 2007. This has been dealt with already. Here's the transcript of the speech, although the Daily Caller is claiming that the full, 40-minute video has more off-script moments than the shout-out to Reverend Wright. The only way this video can take hold is if the media is so desperate for some sort of a change in the Romney-is-losing narrative that they're willing to run with this story for a while, just to make something happen. But since we're on the eve of the first debate, I just don't think that will happen. I dunno. Dumber things have happened. Nice try, though, Drudgie-poo.
