Shots Fired at Obama Campaign Office: On Friday afternoon, an Obama campaign office in Denver received gunfire. Denver police spokeswoman Raquel Lopez said, "It looks like it was one shot that was fired into the structure."

Always Live on the Bottom Floor: A Seattle woman jumped out of a burning building on Friday, according to the Seattle Times. She was taken to Harborview to treat her injuries. Fire department spokesman Kyle Moore said that a man who lived in the building tried to combat the blaze with a garden hose before emergency responders arrived there.

Bigots Flee Moscow Gay Bar: A "coming out day" party at a Moscow gay bar was stormed by two dozen masked men and patrons were brutalized with fists and bottles yesterday. The attackers fled and evaded police capture.

Underwater Kill Bill 2 Reenactment? A giant eyeball has washed up on a Florida beach. No one yet knows what marine mammal it belongs too or what the circumstances were that led to the loss of its intact eyeball.

Feathers Now Legal: Federally recognized Native American tribes will now be allowed to possess eagle feathers. It is currently illegal to possess eagle feathers, in accordance with the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act.

Olympia Man Dies After Stab Wound: An unidentified man was found stabbed and on the street in West Olympia earlier this morning. The man later died and police are investigating how he came to be mortally wounded on Copper Point Road Southwest.

Dudes, Relaaaaax: Rick Steves was shouted down in the Capital yesterday as he tried to make some prepared remarks in support of I-502. True to form ~~marijuana special interests~~ dispensary managers were among the most vocal in their opposition to Steves and the I-502 supporters. Representative Sam Hunt told The Olympian that anti-502 activists assaulted him at the rally.

Cantwell vs. Baumgartner: In a debate last night, Maria Cantwell's Republican challenger Mike Baumgartner lampooned the incumbent senator for voting to take America to war and then he proposed a tax increase. Luckily he remembered later that he's a Republican and spoke out against the Dream Act.

Nothing about the Neo Nazi party in Greece attacking playgoers with the help of the police (who are all Golden Dawn members)? Greece is looking ugly these days.

Hey, you know, these anti-502 jackasses remind me of Golden Dawn a little. Attacking Rick Steves for anything is absolutely putrid. The man is just oustandingly decent all the way through. I saw him speak at the Real Change annual luncheon a couple of years ago, and he killed it. If anything results from this election campaign, win or lose, it's going to be to total loss of credibility and respect for the anti-502 "activists", who are thuggish hypocritical dipshits to a man.

On his show last night, Bill Moyers mopped the floor with Bill O'Reilly for some stupid things he said in his debate with John Stewart. It was a joy to behold:

BILL MOYERS: Welcome. Before we get to the serious business, let’s correct the record. Big Bird isn’t the only public broadcaster on whom Mitt Romney and the conservative propaganda machine have opened hunting season. If you saw Bill O’Reilly’s debate with Jon Stewart a week or so ago you saw Big Bill repeatedly trying to use me as the poster child for the federal deficit.

BILL O’REILLY: We have a president here who believes in social justice, alright. He wants to take your money, my money, the money of the one percent. And he wants to give it…

BILL MOYERS: He even came armed with a flash card.

JON STEWART: I wish I had a poster.

BILL MOYERS: Nice work, O’Reilly. And thanks for the attention. But if you had grown up watching Sesame Street, you’d know your alphabet by now. And you would know NPR is not PBS. I’m on television, just like you. Well, not exactly like you. You reside in an alternate reality, where the truth is as elusive as a moonbeam and facts as alien as little green men with bug eyes.

Your flash card even had it wrong. NPR doesn’t pay me. I don’t work for National Public Radio, never have. This weekly series is on public television stations but we don’t get any money from PBS, either. We raise the funds ourselves, as anyone who can read would know. You can see who our funders are right there, before and after every broadcast. So if anything, we’re putting money into public TV. Over the years our programs have raised millions of dollars for stations across the country. That is a fact. Big Bill’s whole debate with Jon Stewart was like that. Even when he offered up a morsel of praise for anyone, he tripped over the facts. Anyway, no hard feelings. I’ve never even met Bill O’Reilly, by the way. But over the years, as his attacks on public broadcasting and our independent journalism have mounted, I have kept inviting him to come on our program to have a civil conversation about our differences. No editing, no tricks. I’ll even introduce him to our fact checkers, some of the best in the world. We use them, too.

So, Bill, come on over. But one word of warning: Big Bird’s a friend of mine. And we public television types stick together, like birds of a feather. Besides, he’s bigger than both of us.

The second half of the show is about conservatives in Iowa forcing state supreme court judges who ruled in favor of marriage equality off the bench.

@fnarf .... I mean your pot-debate is bad and all but a new Junta like the old one in Greece is a tad bit worse I think...? The Golden Dawn has support in the military and the police and are starting to go out trying to kill off left wingers aswell as immigrants.

@17, yes, you're right: Golden Dawn is worse than the anti-502 creeps. But only by degree; they're in the same business, ultimately. They're not "debating", as you put it; they are physically attacking their opponents and shouting them down when they try to speak. Fuck 'em.

@ I loved Rick Steves just from watching his travel show. When I found out that he was pro cannabis and of the same school of legalization thought I am(treat it like alcohol) he became my hero.

Just a correction, it's Cooper Pt, not Copper. And there's no "West Olympia." The proper name is the West Side. The 'west' in the article is just an adjective, so it shouldn't be capitalized.

I've been concerned that if I-502 passes, the Feds may decide to focus on shutting down as many dispensaries as they can in WA. Increasingly, I find myself hoping they do, because their owners appear to be giant douchebags.

(Hopefully the ones who are willing to adapt to further decriminalization will stick around.)

It's good thing I didn't try to keep any of the bald eagle feathers I've found laying around the neighborhood golf courses! Didn't know I could get busted for possession.
