As we watch President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney face off in a good ol' fashioned Long Island Iced Townhall, starting at 6:00 p.m. (Seattle time).

If you're unfamiliar with townhall debates, the structure is pretty informal—just 80 undecided voters trapped in a room with the two candidates and a couple of Lay-Z-Boy recliners. For 90 minutes, CNN's Candy Crowley will call on audience members to pose their pre-selected questions, which Obama and Romney will each get two minutes to respond to.

Then, in the last remaining minutes, the entire group will decide, democratically, who they'd eat first in the unlikely case of an avalanche.

Over here at Stranger HQ, we're all a little anxious about tonight. Paul Constant is sweating more than his usual amount—"At least a liter more!" he says—while wondering if Obama will redeem himself after his last horrific performance, or if he'll at least spare us 90-minutes of agony by riding in on a donkey and ritualistically lighting himself on fire.

I just sincerely hope Romney does not remove his shoes.

Once again, the presidential debate starts promptly at 6:00 p.m. Seattle time, but I recommend arriving at Havana (1010 E Pike St) early to get your seats and a few drinks under your belt. Right after the prez debate, Goldy and Eli will be liveslogging Washington's last governor's debate, which begins at 8:00 p.m.

You can livestream the governor's debate over at King5.com.
