Pumpkin beer, apparently quite popular (to the point of being practically unobtainable) around Halloween and Thanksgiving, is not only the fuel but also the exalted deity of the annual Great Pumpkin Beer Festival and Elysian Brewing Production Brewery. Brewers come from near (next door!) and far (Norway!) to showcase their autumn squash nectars, bringing more than 60 pumpkin beers to be tasted, sipped, guzzled, and chugged. In Georgetown on Friday and Saturday, the traditional giant pumpkin cask will be tapped, its heavenly juices will flow, and good times will be had by all. Welcome, great pumpkin beer.
