Talk amongst yourselves. I am busy trying to contain my excitement about this.

Oooh, all those greens will look really pretty against the Seattle skyline.

Hey let's paint the Deeply Bloody Tunnel next to it bright red - then when we get a factor 9 quake all the blood will match and we'll have a Christmas tree effect!

Positive comment: The green tree motif accentuates the skyline given proof that we are evergreen, healthy in life and in love.

Negative comment: It's like the biggest car air freshner in the world dangling on the grey, gray skyline.

The Seattle Good Taste Police must be pleased. True, there's not enough beige in it, and that green is awfully green, but it looks like something you might see in San Francisco, and that's what really counts.

"Seattle graphic designer Nicole Commins had the winning entry for the new design that will grace the top of the Space Needle for the next six months."

Say what you will about the Seattle Times, but they did use this slightly clunky construction to correctly fail to assert that Nicole was the winner here.

Yeah, I can't say I'm excited about it, but I fail to see why this deserves so much scorn. Are there any other prominent structures that don't have interesting enough paint jobs for you?
