The Sadness of Trackers

Posted by on Mon, Oct 29, 2012 at 11:46 AM

It's not all Macaca moments and exciting shouts of "Get a job!" for the people who trail the candidates.

Sometimes you end up at a memorial for Vietnam Veterans, and Republican Congressman Allen West is calling you a cretin, and the headline becomes: "Did Allen West Make His Tracker Cry?"

There's no reason why she can't stay, West's baseless accusations of her disrespect aside. It's taking place in a public place and he's a (crazy) public figure making a statement into a microphone at at public event. She wasn't being disruptive, she was standing there silently filming, as I'm sure others were. And those vets (especially the one at the end verifying that she's leaving) would do well to remember that it's her right to watch and videotape just as much as theirs. That's one of the (in my opinion) most important rights they were ostensibly fighting to protect during their service. But of course, because he's a Republican, the same rules do not apply.

Biggest scumbag in the House, trailed closely by Joe Walsh.

Wait. Not for political purposes, huh? As he stands on "hallowed ground" for a campaign stop.

Seriously, what an asshole.

The "tracker" was sniffling and wheezing before the ahole confronted her. Just listen carefully. He didn't make her cry.

Allen West made me cry before any of you knew who he was. Before Iraq.
