Donald Trump Is Robocalling for Mitt Romney in Swing States

Posted by on Wed, Oct 31, 2012 at 11:49 AM

ThinkProgress says:

Real estate mogul and ardent birther Donald Trump has been asked to stump for Mitt Romney in the final week before Election Day. Trump will be doing robo-calls in Ohio, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Florida — crucial battleground states.

I think the Republican party is very much overestimating Donald Trump's political appeal with independents.

Next, they'll get George W. Bush lined up to call people in Colorado.

I thought they were trying to downplay the relationship between those two.

Are we sure it wasn't the Obama campaign asking Trump Robocall for Mittens? Did the RNC operative who contacted Trump sound anything like Sasha or Maliah?

Donald Trump? Isn't he universally regarded as an object of loathing and ridicule? Is there anyone who actually likes that guy? Isn't he the personification of everything icky? The comb-over? The arrogance? The clownish idiocy? The repeated self-humiliations over birther issues?

Wasn't he sufficiently slapped down by the President at the White House Correspondent's Dinner the night that bin Laden was killed?

Odd, considering how Trump inherited his wealth, and is only in business because of government contracts and generous corporate bankruptcy laws (which he avails himself to an awful lot for being so "successful").

He is the opposite of John Galt, the opposite of every value conservatives are supposed to hold dear.

But why am I expecting any kind of consistance of philosophy from the modern day GOP?

The two Trump casinos, Trump Plaza and the Trump Taj Mahal, suffered little more than a few water leaks, said Bob Griffin, CEO of Trump Entertainment Resorts. The "M"s in one of the "Trump" signs at the Taj Mahal blew off...
Maybe somebody borrowed them for the crowning touch on a "Marmot-headed Motherfucker" sign.

@3's got it right, I think. Apart from anyone who watches the Apprentice, are there really people who give a shit what a financially and morally bankrupt failed business tycoon actually thinks?

Isn't it interesting how Donald Trump, with his theoretical five million dollars laying around for Obama's passport and transcripts, apparently hasn't done anything to to help alleive the pain and suffering caused by this storm? All of his casino employees undoubtedly live in the Atlantic City area, and probably most of his customers come from the area impacted by Sandy.

He's repugnant. But that makes him the perfect Republican to support Rmoney.

The Romney campaign has finally hit its "kitchen sink" stage of desperation.

Right, he's only worth less than a hundred million after being born a billionaire.

@8 You're getting into some tall grass talking about Trump's charitable giving. The only redeeming quality in the man is the millions he gives each year to groups like St. Jude's. He knows the PR value of giving, and does quite a bit of it. There will most likely be a grandstanding announcement that he'll rebuild the Boardwalk, or some other flashy news. Then he will remind everyone, for the rest of his life, that he built the Boardwalk.

That's all well and good, Sir Vic, and God Bless him for the charity work he does - but you would think, in this time of extreme need, that his ego would force him to make a big donation to the Red Cross or something. Maybe Marlo Thomas needs to give him a call.
