City / Film Attention Sci-Fi Nerds and Leotard Fetishists!

Tomorrow night on the big screen!
This fall, Trekkers across the country can “make it so” with “Star Trek: The Next Generation – A Celebration of Season 2,” a one-night in-theater event on Thursday, Nov. 29, at 7:00 p.m. local time. Showcasing the series’ ongoing multimillion-dollar restoration, this special event will feature two of the most popular episodes from the second season: “The Measure of a Man” and “Q Who?”. The version of “The Measure of a Man” will be the first-ever extended cut of a “Star Trek®” episode, with the world premiere of 12 never-before-seen minutes during this special event. Additionally, fans will be treated to a sneak peek of great behind-the-scenes special features including a very special cast reunion, a documentary and an unseen outtakes/bloopers reel.
Participating local cinemas include AMC Pacific Place 11, AMC Southcenter 16, and AMC Kent Station 14.

Season fucking 2!?!?!?! That season sucked shit!! I mean it has Star Trek's ONLY flashback episode.
Season 4,5,6 or 7 I would be there in a heart beat.

Dammit! I have to work. (Also, I live on the other side of the country). The Measure of a Man was riveting. That scene with Whoopie in ten-forward was jaw-dropping. I'm choking up just thinking about it.

@2 Didn't season 2 have Pulaski, as well? [shudder] The post's picture is inaccurate by a season or 2.

Season 2 isn't THAT bad... yeah, it generally doesn't hold a candle to the mid and late seasons, but it is infinitely better than season 1.
Along with the two episodes mentioned in the original post, season 2 has Time Squared which may be a little forced, but is still a creepy and interesting episode.
Also, Peak Performance, A Matter of Honor, and The Emissary all have some solid acting.

@4 - It is also showing in a lot of Cinemark theaters. I know it is in the one here in Baton Rouge.

I'm a big Trek fan but TNG was mostly pretty shitty. If it wasn't for the excellence of Brent Spiner and Patrick Stewart it really wouldn't be watchable.
I've been re-watching TNG. TNG doesn't hold up very well. It doesn't have the originality or cool 1960's nostalgia of OS ST. TNG was basically flying around the galaxy in the lobby of 1980's Ramada Inn with biege furniture and burgundy carpet (complete with a useless new age therapist and techno-babbling teenager on the bridge) deliberately NOT getting into action sequences.
After seven seasons and 178 episodes there are really only a handful of standouts. One the best being "The Most Toys" in the third season.
Otherwise where it's not laughable, it's pretty boring.

The point being they are showing 2 really good ST:TNG episodes from season 2 and extras.
Whether any other episodes of season 2 aside from these were good or bad is sort of beside the point.
I do remember Q became interesting and that was a very unexpected change from episode 1.

I've noticed a change in denotation on the web lately.
When people say "Star Trek", they tend to mean Next Gen, not TOS.
Demographics.
Also, what is it with "Enterprise"? The cult doesn't seem to recognize it, though it has some of the best episodes made in the franchise.

Measure of a Man. The episode where we discover that Star Fleet officers are not only pilots, explorers, soldiers, diplomats, engineers, and artists, but also lawyers.

Are they planning on doing each season in theaters? Because I am super excited to see Best of Both Worlds, Chain of Command and All Good Things on the big screen.
