Over on his Book Patrol blog, Michael Lieberman announced the first big exciting Seattle literary event of 2013. It's called the Free Book Incident:

Wessel & Lieberman Booksellers and Olson Kundig Architects have partnered to create a unique environment to celebrate the power of books and investigate what can happen when they are available for free. FBI is inspired in part by The Book Thing of Baltimore, an ongoing free book exchange whose "mission is to put unwanted books into the hands of those who want them".

Wessel & Lieberman will be donating the books and Olson Kundig will be creating the space, which will include a three-way kinetic bookshelf with pivoting sections that will activate a multitude of spaces - nooks, stages, long tables, etc.

FBI will be home for book events all month long. It launches on January 10th with a party from 5:30-8:30pm. You'll be hearing more about the FBI right here on Slog, but for more information right now, visit Book Patrol.
