President Obama won the election in Florida, but if the state had actually done its goddamned job and allowed every citizen to have their vote, he probably would've won by a much larger margin. ThinkProgress linked to a study by Ohio State University that concludes:
[A]s many as 49,000 people across Central Florida were discouraged from voting because of long lines on Election Day, according to a researcher at Ohio State University who analyzed election data compiled by the Orlando Sentinel.
This is disgraceful. Every citizen should have the chance to vote. This is arguably the most important duty for any state government, and Florida has made a mockery of it.
