David Sedaris Reads 50 Shades of Grey

Posted by on Wed, Jan 9, 2013 at 5:38 PM

The amazing thing about this is that Sedaris, who is one of the best readers I've ever seen, manages to make 50 Shades of Grey sound kind of interesting.

I laughed when he stumbled over "clitoris". (*waving at Dan on the Lovecast*)

Sedaris is wonderful, of course, but you really , really MUST see George Takei reading from 50 Shades of Grey.

I agree. George Takei reading it was wonderful. As was Gilbert Gottfried's version.

The content of this book and his tone of voice reminded me of the bedtime stories and rhymes my mother would tell me. She would say things like:
Jack Sprat could eat no fat
His wife could eat no lean.
But when they went to bed at night
There still was room between.

or this:
Old Mother Hubbard went to the cupboard
to get her daughter a dress.
When she got there the cupboard was bare
and so was her daughter, I guess.
