Following on the heels of its recent acquisition of the Seattle Weekly, Little Nickel publisher Sound Publishing has acquired the Everett Herald from the Washington Post Company.
“We are thrilled to have The Daily Herald join our growing family of newspapers,” Sound Publishing president Gloria Fletcher said in a press release. “The Herald is a very well respected newspaper and it is a great fit with our print and digital products serving the greater Seattle area.”
It's not like Sound Publishing's parent company, Black Press, Ltd., doesn't already own a few daily newspapers around the country. But these recent acquisitions do suggest a shift in their regional business strategy. Which raises the question: Who's next?
