Look, I understand the impulse to parse everything that was said at the Supreme Court today. It's a perfectly reasonable impulse. But it's important to remember that it's almost impossible to make predictions about what the Supreme Court will ultimately decide. Remember at this time last year, almost to the day, the chattering class was reporting on the "disaster" that Obamacare suffered in the Supreme Court, and they were pre-eulogizing how pro-Obamacare forces suffered "one of the most spectacular flameouts in the history of the court. " In hindsight, some of the Justice's questions did indicate the court's eventual judgment. But at the time, nobody had enough information to connect the dots.

So by all means, you should read the reports about what was said. You should go over the transcripts. You should read about what it was like in and outside the court today. We're all excited, and we all want to know what's going on. But the minute someone tries to tell you what the decision will be, you should know that they don't have any special insight into the inner workings of the court, and your guess is just as good as theirs.
