At a press conference just now, police department representative Col. Alben confirmed that "we do not have an apprehension of our suspect this afternoon, but we will have one." He made reference to "exploded and unexploded ordinance that has been made safe and removed." Further, he says that a thorough search has finally concluded and "we are going to draw back our tactical teams," but there will be additional patrols in Watertown through at least Monday.

Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick just lifted the stay-indoors rule and says the MBTA transit system is back up and running. "We can return to living our lives," he says, adding that citizens should "remain vigilant."

Alben says he doesn't have reason to believe the suspect is out of the Boston area. "All this individual's ties are here," he says. "I believe he's in Massachusetts."
