By several accounts, Washington State senator Mike Carrell, who was 69 and had great hair, died today due to complications from a blood condition called myelodysplastic syndrome. A Republican member of the state senate's Coalition Caucus, which now holds a one-vote majority over Democrats, Carrell represented the 28th District (Lakewood). Condolences to his family and friends.
