Most people "not in regular contact with the LGBTQ community... might be forgiven for being unfamiliar with" PGPs, J. Bryan Lowder writes today at Slate. I beg to differ: most LGBTQ people have no idea what the whole PGP thing is about. Ask your average LGBTQer to guess and he/she/ze/zer/ou will go with, "Something to do with PNP?"

If you're not up to speed on the "preferred gender pronouns," Lowder's piece is a good primer—and a nice corrective for those of ou who blow up at people who aren't up on PGPs generally and/or psychic enough to correctly guess your PGP.
