Hey, remember Tako Truk? The (great) taco stand that operated out of the front of Eastlake's 14 Carrot Cafe, after its lunch hours? The one that went on to be the very not-taco-stand (but also great) Madison Park Conservatory? (Which, by the way, still makes [great] Tako Truk tacos on Fridays and Saturdays at lunchtime in the summer, mere steps away from Madison beach.)

Now Tako Truk has a worthy-sounding successor in the form of the 14 Carrot Taco Stand. It's cash-only, all-over-the-place tacos—like bulgogi, chicken tikka masala, falafel, baby back rib—sold out of the 14 Carrot Cafe on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. Ryan, one of the owners, says, "I've put a great deal of thought and testing into these initial offerings, and I'm very proud of both their quality and the personal innovation that went into the recipes. All of the food is made fresh to order and nothing is put into warming trays for expedience." And people in the neighborhood say it's great.

Also, if you break the record by eating the highest number of any particular kind of tacos, you earn the right to name that taco, plus three free tacos on your next visit. Sweet.
