To create the sculpture you see above at Seattle Art Museum, Peruvian-born artist William Cordova (remember his ruins monument at the entrance to The Record at the Henry?) is asking for donations.

If you've got 1970s- and 1980s-era speakers to spare, you can hand them over at SAM's loading dock on Union Street between First and Second Avenue. There'll be a sign that says "speaker drop off." Hours are between 11 am and 6:30 pm Thursday and Friday, August 29 and 30; and 10 am to 2 pm Saturday, August 31. Email with any questions.
