Peregrine across the street from my apartment, back in June or July in the rain. Note how . . . sharp it is. That's why I'm sure the bird above is not a peregrine. Real-life peregrines look like hieroglyphics of hawks when they perch, and they fly much faster than other hawks. Saw one take a pigeon on the wing on the bike path back in October. Amazing birds.
This guy is another juvenile Coopers or red-tail. On Northwestern's campus in April. Almost was late for class taking this pic.
