Progressive Radio Northwest, a grassroots organization dedicated to bringing progressive talk radio back to the Seattle market, is hosting a KPTK-1090 reunion of sorts tomorrow night, featuring national progressive talk host Norman Goldman: 7 to 9:30 pm at Impact Hub Seattle, 220 Second Avenue South. Tickets are still available!

I'll be the emcee of the night's events, serving in my capacity as Seattle's last local progressive talk radio host.

It's a weird thing that Seattle, one of the most progressive cities in the nation, continues to support two conservative talk stations, and yet there's no place on the dial for a progressive talker to get on the air. Personally, I think it has more to do with ownership than with audience preferences (for example, I had decent ratings and a full ad spot load back in 2008 when KIRO axed my show and replaced it with syndication), and that makes it all the more difficult for the folks at Progressive Radio Northwest to achieve their goal.

But if you miss having a progressive talk station—or you just want to meet Norman Goldman—come join me Saturday night!
