Paul Colford at the Associated Press says:

The Associated Press has ended its ties with Narciso Contreras, a freelance photographer who has worked for AP in the Middle East, following his recent admission that he altered a photo that he took last September in Syria.

Contreras admitted to deleting a video camera from his photo of a Syrian opposition fighter.

Of all the conversations we need to be having in 2014, a discussion about the proper uses of Photoshop isn't even in the top 500, but I can already hear those think-pieces being churned out at the behest of slavering blog editors around the country.
