I've heard good things about Nicolas Cage's performance in David Gordon Green's Joe. So naturally, the movie doesn't even have a US release date yet. Here's the French trailer:

It's interesting that Cage's character talks about restraint in the trailer, because a lack of restraint seems to be what most people think is his biggest problem as an actor. Frankly, I don't think Cage needs to restrain himself—I think his boundless energy is what makes him charming—but I do think his performances need to be more even. There are whole scenes in some of his latest movies where he's basically sleepwalking. If Cage can learn how to make quietness interesting again, he'll be an Oscar winner again in a matter of years. Hopefully this movie is a first step in that direction.
