The Teabag Twins strike again:

Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Mike Lee (R-UT) have introduced a Senate version of the “State Marriage Defense Act,” a bill that would prohibit the federal government from recognizing same-sex couples’ marriages if they live in a state that doesn’t recognize them. This “You’re Not Married Anymore” bill would mean that families would lose all their federal protections simply by crossing the border into another state.

This bill is just a sop that Cruz is throwing to his hyper-conservative base in the hopes that he'll be rewarded with the Santorum Slot in the 2016 Republican presidential primary. Unfortunately for Ted Cruz, his increasingly unpopular stance against gay marriage isn't the only problem facing him as he prepares for a presidential run. This guy keeps doubling down on stupid Teabagger maneuvers, as though he thinks America is forever stuck in 2009.
