So House of Cards is fast becoming Scarface for American politicians. Republicans and Democrats alike love watching it, making reference to it, and talking about it amongst themselves. But I'm not sure we needed a very long Politico Magazine article about why this is the case. Even more than ordinary people, politicians love to be flattered. House of Cards makes politicians appear to be competent, intelligent, sexy, and pretty. This is not rocket science.

Related: I haven't finished the second season of House of Cards yet, so nobody spoil me. I'm halfway through, and I have to say that so far I don't enjoy the second season as much as I liked the first. All the subtlety seems to have gone out the window. I'm still having a good time with it, but it's more of a Dallas good time than a Breaking Bad good time.
