From the Learn the Address website:
To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address, documentarian Ken Burns, along with numerous partners, has launched a national effort to encourage everyone in America to video record themselves reading or reciting the speech. The collection of recordings housed on this site will continue to grow as more and more people are inspired by the power of history and take the challenge to LEARN THE ADDRESS.
I don't like Ken Burns asking me to memorize stuff any more than the next person, but this is a perfectly great thing. The first line of the Gettysburg Address alone (laid over the image above) is perpetually valuable ammunition against those "Christian" conservatives who can't understand why their intolerance is no longer being tolerated.
That said, in the name of good sportsmanship, I challenge Ken Burns to memorize this Tracey Ullman song.
