(Neumos) The very smart AND contemporary R&B/popcorn powerhouse Nick Waterhouse plays real strict late '50s/ early '60s R&B, horns and everything, and does NOT concede to anything contemporary. He and his group pull it off with class and, kinda consistently, sound like the handful of London groups playing the Flamingo circa 1964, just minus the bespoke suits and amphetamines. Anyway, he's touring to support his new LP, This Is a Game. I've only heard the single tracks from his new album; the title track is a dancer, upbeat... and it fucking kills, so go see this group. You will dance.
