I'm embarrassed—I'm just watching this for the first time today (and without having dropped acid). Which is weird 'cause, during the '80s, I had HELLA goth friends and they were ALL fucking obsessed with Siouxsie and the Banshees (and acid). Seriously, they collected ever scrap of anything Siouxsie Sioux, yet no one sussed out a copy of THIS. Anyway, the show was part of a series called Play At Home Special and originally aired in 1984 on BBC Channel 4. The point of the series was to give edgy musicians/bands an hour to invent/produce their own auto-biographical narrative.

There were four separate, hour long episodes produced: New Order, Echo and the Bunnymen, Virginia Astley and the Banshees. For the Banshees' episode, beside their rabbit hole "narrative," we also get six songs/videos, including a couple from their satellite groups, the Glove and the Creatures. Play At Home Special Present - Siouxsie & The Banshees is quite good, disturbing at some points and MOST awesome at all the rest.

This Banshees episode was also made during one of Robert Smith's stints in the band, hence his inclusion. Otherwise, we all know Mr. Smith, and his iconic hair, from the Cure.
