Following in the footsteps of venture capitalist Tom Perkins, who in January warned that the nation might be on the verge of a âprogressive Kristallnacht,â Home Depot co-founder Ken Langone is quoted in Politico today suggesting that populists worried about income inequality are ⌠basically Nazis.
Here's what Langone had to say about our national conversation about income inequality:
âI hope itâs not working,â Ken Langone, the billionaire co-founder of Home Depot and major GOP donor, said of populist political appeals. âBecause if you go back to 1933, with different words, this is what Hitler was saying in Germany. You donât survive as a society if you encourage and thrive on envy or jealousy.â
The world said "never forget" after Adolph Hitler boosted the minimum wage and asked wealthy Germans to pay their fair share of taxes. And yet here we are again.
