Do you know about the Seattle Rock Lottery? It's such a great concept! At 10 a.m. on Saturday morning, 25 hand-picked Seattle musicians will be randomly grouped into five brand-new, single-serving bands. For the next 12 hours, each new band will head off to separate locations to decide on a name and create three to five songs (one of them can be a cover). At 10 p.m. that same evening, the bands will show off their new songs at the Crocodile in front of a waiting audience.

And it's all for a good cause! This year's Rock Lottery will benefit the Washington Music Educators Association.

This year's (crazy talented) participating musicians:

J Battle (Gran Rapids), Jonah Bergman (Schoolyard Heroes, Trash Fire), Daniel Blue (Motopony), TV Coahran (Popular Shapes, Gazebos), Avtar Crowder (Atomic Bride), Shenandoah Davis (Shenandoah Davis), Cameron Elliott (No Grave, Mongrel Blood), Jacob Evans (Gems, The Soft Hills, St Kilda), Matt Gervais (Mikey and Matty, Curtains For You), Trey Gunn (King Crimson, TU), Jeppa Hall (Queen Shmooquan, Goatgirl), Thomas Hunter (The Heavy, White China Gold), Andrew King (XVIII Eyes, Dustmoth, Crypts), Mitch Leffler (Zebra Hunt), Kimo Muraki (Tiny Messengers, Surrealized), Ahamefule J.
