Some exciting news regarding SIFF 2014: The recipients of this year's Tribute awards for Outstanding Achievement in Acting will be Laura Dern and Chiwetel Ejiofor, the centerpiece screening will be Richard Linklater's amazing-looking Boyhood, and all three artists will be present to bask in the Seattle love.

The specifics: Laura Dern will be honored at a screening of her new film The Fault in Our Stars on May 16 AND at a special showcase screening (with career-spanning clip reel and onstage interview) of her 1990 Palme d'Or-winning collaboration with David Lynch, Wild at Heart, on May 17.

Chiwetel Ejiofor will be honored at a special screening of Joss Whedon's Serenity on May 18 and at a showcase screening (with clip reel and interview) of Columbite Tantalite (a short film directed by Ejiofor) and Half of a Yellow Sun (Biyi Bandele's new feature starring Ejiofor) on May 19.

And Richard Linklater will be here for the SIFF centerpiece gala screening of his new Boyhood on May 31. (Other films slated for inclusion in SIFF 2014: Megan Griffith's Lucky Them and Alex Gibney's Finding Fela.)
