Starwars.com announced the cast of Star Wars Episode VII this morning:

Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film.

Boyega, of course, is the star of the excellent sci-fi film Attack the Block. I don't believe that I've seen Ridley in anything. Gleeson was fine as the star of the bad time-travel romance About Time. Serkis plays every CGI character ever. And von Sydow needs no introduction. Besides Boyega landing a major leading role, I most love the fact that Driver and Isaac will make the new Star Wars movie a sort of Inside Llewyn Davis reunion:

And now begins a long, depressing string of crappy paparazzi photographs of actors walking around the set in costume, gossip about the script, and fanboy predictions about how terrible the movie is going to be. I hope to ignore pretty much all of that stuff, and I'd encourage you to ignore it, too. Good luck out there, internet.

UPDATE: It is quite the sausagefest, isn't it?
