Charles Mudede: "This week I'm all about Jim Jarmusch’s new film Only Lovers Left Alive and a new book by Ole Berg called Making Money: The Philosophy of Crisis Captialism. I hope to find a link between the vampire movie and book about the root of all evil."

Paul Constant: "All the action this week is happening on Thursday, for some reason. Hugo House is hosting a reading with Mark Wunderlich to celebrate his new poetry collection, The Earth Avails. Wunderlich will be joined by local poets who I like, including Pimone Triplett and Andrew Feld. But Thursday night is also a launch party for a book called Courage: Daring Poems for Gutsy Girls, which includes poems for young girls written by Karen Finneyfrock, Tara Hardy, and Sara Brickman. That's a great idea for a book, don't you think? I don't know which event I should check out. I'm wracked with indecision. I'm like the Hamlet of book readings, over here."

Dave Segal: "I'll be fulfilling my Data Breaker columnist duties by hitting up Neumos Wednesday for German minimal-techno savant Pantha Du Prince and Kremwerk Thursday for the MOTOR night, headlined by Minneapolis mutant-house strangelings Dreamweapon."

Brendan Kiley: "Difficult to say yet, but I’m guessing Tony Kushner, who’s coming to town this Friday, will figure into the equation. I’d also very much like to see Alain Buffard at On the Boards, which sounds like a combination of formal theatrical dance, Haitian dance, and Kurt Weill. And I bought a blueberry shrub yesterday that supposedly grows nicely in pots on porches, so I’m going to study up and see if I’ve been swindled or not."

Anna Minard: "On Tuesday, I’ll be checking out an author reading at Elliott Bay, where a bunch of transit nerds will be hosting transit advocate Ben Ross to talk about throwing your car in a river and burning white picket fences, or something. Then on Thursday I’m heading to NARAL’s Power of Choice Awards to hang out with a bunch of mouthy broads."
