Wait, I'm confused: Does this mean I have to be against a minimum wage increase now?

Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum on Monday morning said he agrees with former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty that Republicans should support an increase in the minimum wage.

Speaking with Chuck Todd on MSNBC, the 2012 Republican presidential candidate said the GOP stance on minimum wage “makes no sense.”

“Let’s not make this argument that we’re for the blue-collar guy but we’re against any minimum wage increase ever,” Santorum said of Republicans. “It just makes no sense.”

The weird part is, this is probably a very controversial stand for Santorum to be taking as a Republican. I hope the media makes a big deal out of a proposed minimum wage increase with candidates who are running for election this year—the teabaggiest of them are against minimum wages of any sort, and that's a very unpopular position to take in America right now.
