Chop Suey’s Dragon Lounge has been the scene of increasing action lately. The cool back area of the Capitol Hill club is ideal for hosting intimate, niche-type nights where a crowd of 50 feels packed.
Tonight City Hunter returns to Seattle’s live circuit, hosted by DJAO and DJ Hojo, who also spun regularly at Q Nightclub’s Wednesday weekly, Dial Up. (By the way, Dial Up is now called Customs and is relaunching May 21 at Q with Spazzkid headlining.)
City Hunter focuses on Southeast Asian electronic music, classified by DJAO as “City Pop, Korean Trot, Chinese Funk, Viet Disco,” and other varieties featuring smooth fretless bass you don't know about yet and that rarely get aired in our city's venues. These sounds will be accompanied by LaserDisc movies and drink specials. Find more info here.
