The DIY folks who run VIBRATIONS festival are throwing a lineup-announcing party Sat. June 28 at Cairo. VIBRATIONS will take place Aug. 3 at Volunteer Park's Amphitheatre. Every year it strives to be the most chill fest during the hottest part of the year. VIBRATIONS is ambitious like that.

Run by Cairo and secondnature, the announcement party will feature live performances by local electronic producers Simic, Bardo:Basho (Elevator), and Patternmaster (Jon Carr of Brain Fruit and MOTOR), plus DJ sets by R-Pal (Rachel Kramer of Vera/Hautehaus) and Archivist (secondnature). Coldbrew Collective will provide the visuals. The event runs from 7 pm-12 am, costs $4, and is all ages. In addition to the music, you can check out Kathyirl and So Pitted member J9's "tropical psychic"-themed installation and Shannon Perry's poster art. There will also be raffle prizes and "specialty" cookies from Sugar High.
