Come Remember the Future at Scarecrow: The Chris Marker Group meets tonight at 7:30 pm at Scarecrow Video. Chris Marker was a great French filmmaker and the director of what some (such as Charles Mudede) consider to be number one work of the cinematic arts, La Jetee. Tonight, there will be a screening of Marker's 2001 film Remembrance of Things to Come. Here is what the Institut Francais has to say about this film: "Bellon’s images provide an ideal vehicle for Marker’s fascination with the indicting gaze, whether figuring as André Breton’s 'perfect eye,' the hard stares of prostitutes in France’s African colonies or the shattered faces of war veterans. " The actress Alexandra Stewart provides an English track for this film.

Driscoll Book Delayed Indefinitely: Two days ago, we told you that Mars Hill Pastor Mark Driscoll's next book, the hilariously titled The Problem with Christianity, was delayed through at least the beginning of 2015, supposedly in response to multiple Mars Hill scandals. Now, Tyndale House openly admits that "we do not have a pub date for The Problem with Christianity." Further, Driscoll established a publishing imprint with Tyndale called Resurgence. One Resurgence title will be published this fall, but a Tyndale House PR manager says "To my knowledge we do not have any additional Resurgence titles that have release dates scheduled at this time." Warren Throckmorton at Patheos is on the case.

The Gregory Awards Goes to the Moore: The sixth annual awards ceremony moves to the 1,800-seat venue and will also increase its number of categories to 20 with outstanding supporting actor in a musical, outstanding supporting actress in a musical, and outstanding choreography. See their website for more information.

Netflix Gets in the Talk Show Business: Chelsea Handler is doing a bunch of stuff with Netflix, including a new talk show. Is it possible to binge-watch a talk show? Why does anyone think Chelsea Handler, whose most recent book is titled Uganda Be Kidding Me, is funny? We'll learn the answers to these questions with special presentations from Handler starting later this year. The talk show isn't scheduled to start until 2016. Get a load of this terrible PR quote attributed to Handler:

If I was going to continue working in this industry, I knew I had to do something outside the box to keep myself interested. I wanted to sit with the cool kids at lunch so I approached Netflix to make sure they were as cool as I thought they were, and when I confirmed my suspicions, like with any other future lover, I made my move.
